Ruby General Hospital is a, Newsweek-2025 listed, 270+ bedded multispecialty hospital established in 1995 and inaugurated by former Chief Minister, Shri Jyoti Basu. It caters mostly to the eastern part of India but also to patients from abroad. It is the first NRI hospital certified by ISO 9001:2008 in Eastern India, and the only hospital in India applying 6 sigma techniques. It has also been conferred with the prestigious ‘Healthcare Achievers Award’ for the best multispecialty hospital. The hospital offers a wide variety of medical services for both inpatients and outpatients, including diagnostic, routine checkups, treatments, surgeries and other medical procedures spanning many medical specialties such as Cardiology, Otolaryngology, Gynecology, Orthopedic, Ophthalmology, Pathology, Oncology, and Radiology among others. Every day around 350 to 400 patients avail the outpatient services of the hospital. Around 75 beds have been exclusively dedicated for providing emergency and critical care management of patients. The hospital has a very well experienced and accomplished team of medical practitioners, technicians, nurses and other administrative staff; and in a span of around 23 years has performed a variety of major surgeries such as cardiothoracic surgeries, cancer surgeries and other procedures with a high success rate. The hospital also holds a record to achieve 100% success rate in its first 400 bypass surgeries. Its cardiac unit was opened by Mother Teresa in 1995. It has a comprehensive cancer care facility which is the first NABH accredited cancer centre in the city, and has world-class Radiation Oncology service and state of the art linear accelerator Clinac iX with FFF (Flattening filter-free) technology, the first of its kind in India.
