Aster CMI Hospital, a flagship of the Aster Hospitals group, is a premier multispecialty facility in Bengaluru. History

The story of Aster Hospitals began in 1987 when Dr. Azad Moopen, a gold medalist physician from Kerala, moved to Dubai. What started as a single doctor’s clinic, the Al Rafa Poly Clinic, to serve the expatriate community quickly grew into a long-term vision for accessible, quality healthcare. Over nearly four decades, this humble beginning evolved into a global conglomerate, expanding from primary clinics and pharmacies to advanced quaternary care hospitals across India and the GCC.

Aster Hospitals now serve as the hospital division and clinical core of Aster DM Healthcare, one of the region's largest integrated healthcare providers. They deliver advanced tertiary and quaternary care across specialized fields, including cardiology, oncology, neurology, and organ transplantation. To sharpen its regional focus, the group undertook a significant restructuring in April 2024, establishing its India and GCC operations as two distinct legal entities to empower localized growth and strengthen its regional presence.
